FINDING A WEDDING DRESS
I didn’t cry when I found my wedding dress, is this normal?
A lot of brides that come into our store find the perfect dress but wonder why they don’t cry or have the big ‘i’ve found it’ moment. Many people put so much pressure on themselves to try and make this happen, but the truth is, it doesn’t happen as often as you think!
We are taught by movies and TV shows that if we don’t cry, it’s not THE dress but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Sometimes after trying a lot of dresses on, it can feel very surreal and overwhelming when you finally figure out it’s the one. Everyone reacts in a different way; some people may just have that huge smile across their face, whilst others will just not want to take the dress off!
So if I don’t get that moment, how can I be certain it’s the dress for me? Well we’ve written a list of things to help you know you’re wearing your perfect dress.
Finding a wedding dress
1) You feel like a million dollars – Here at Couture & Tiaras, we want you to feel your absolute best in your dress. Your dress should enhance your best features and make you feel like the best version of yourself. If you feel amazing in the dress now, imagine putting it on once you’ve had hair and makeup done!
2) You feel comfortable in it – This is an important factor as you’ll be spending nearly all of the day in your beautiful dress. Most of our dresses are made using a jersey lining which gives a super soft, stretchy feel whilst also being lightweight. From greeting guests to getting down on the dance floor, you want to feel you are able to move freely on the day.
3) You can see yourself walking down the aisle in it – Once you’re in your favourite gown, we always try to help you imagine yourself on the day by letting you walk in the dress. Sometimes, just by putting a veil on, it becomes more real and allows you to see the full bridal look. Try picturing yourself at your venue, holding your bouquet, walking down to your husband to be.
